Nature photography

Nature photography refers to a wide range of photography taken outdoors and devoted to displaying natural elements such aslandscapes, wildlife, plants, and close-ups of natural scenes and textures.

This is a good example of nature photo graphs because it is focusing on the natural elements of this area, creating a landscape photo which focuses on the colourful trees an leaves.

Art photography

art photography is photography created in accordance with the vision of the artist as photographer. Art photography stands in contrast to representational photography, such as photojournalism.

This is a good example of art photography ass the phot has clearly been taken with the vision of the artist as the photographer from the angle that the photo has been taken on.

Landscape

Landscape photography is intended to show different spaces within the world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times microscopic. Photographs typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes
Taken by Simon beedle:
This photo is a good example of a landscape because it is showing of a place in the world, which is capturing the nature around the area where this photo was taken of the cliffs.

Environmental portrait

An environmental portrait is a portrait executed in the subject's usual environment, such as in their home or workplace, and typically illuminates the subject's life and surroundings.
This photo is a good example of environmental portraiture because the photo is focused on the man playing the instrument and really tells the story of the man playing the violin.

Birds eye pov

bird's-eye view is an elevated view of an object from above, with a perspective as though the observer were a bird, often used in the making of blueprintsfloor plans andmaps.

This is a good example of birds eye view because of its elevated angle, where the photo has been taken from above.

Pattern photography

Pattern photography utilizes elements that are repeated. The repetition of lines, shapes, tones or color can create interesting images.

This is a good example of pattern photography because of the repetition of the same sign, which creates the pattern.

Open format cropping

The open format crop is basically any photo where the full subject is not contained within the frame. It can aid in bringing the most attention to the subject matter as it is often the only thing in the frame.

This photo is a good example of open format cropping because the photo is to fully in the frame and is focusing only on one part of the photo being the face of the cat.

Diagonal line

Diagonal lines generally work well to draw the eye of an image’s viewer through the photograph. They create points of interest as they intersect with other lines and often give images depth by suggesting perspective.

This photo is a good example of diagonal line photography as the edge of the clif is on a diagonal and really stands out in the photo.

Horizontal line

Using horizontal lines is a great way to group together different elements in a photo and it helps to establish details within a photograph, such as direction and location.

Asymmetrical photography

Asymmetrical, or informal, balance is usually much more interesting than symmetrical balance. In asymmetrical balance the imaginary central pivot point is still presumed to be present

Worms eye pov

worm's-eye view is a view of an object from below, as though the observer were a worm; the opposite of a bird's-eye view.

This photo shows worms eye view as it has been taking from below and not above (opposite to birds eye)

Rhythm photography

Is the repetition or alteration of elements , often with defined intervals between them. Rhythm can create a sense of movement and can establish pattern and texture.

This shows rhythm photography because of the repetition of objects in the photo.

Closed format cropping

Cropping photos refers to removing parts of the image to emphasise the subject and remove distractions.

Rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is a "rule of thumb" or guideline which applies to the process of composing visual images such as designsfilmspaintings, and photographs.

Vertical line

Vertical lines have the ability to convey a variety of different moods in a photograph ranging from power and strength (skyscrapers) to growth (trees).

This photo demonstrates vertical line because of the structure of the building, it brings focus to the building because of its vertical placements.

Central placement

Central placement of objects is static. If an object is an equal distance from all sides, there is no implied need to move. The object is balanced, and therefore at rest

This image shows central placement because the person in placed in the centre of the image which causes people to look in the central place of the image.
